I am allowed to brag about recycling....I could tell you some fabulous stories about the lamps I re-made...(I used to collect parts)...trash to treasure triumph stories...I am LOOKING at a lamp RIGHT NOW that was a pile of rust and had to have the old gas pipe fittings torn out so I could wire it for electricity...and it turned out to be PEWTER under all the rust...and I made a stained glass shade for it out of FOUND glass....so yes...brag brag brag!!!
