The book was great the movie wasn't. Disney watered down a good book so they could get it rubber stamped to show to younger audiences. Sad that they are that motivated by money. They didn't really address the racial issues that the book raised. It was a very poor sc

Numbers vary on that one but yeah they need to get away from the generic blockbuster and nailed on money makers, which means endless remakes and versions of old films, their are many books and idea's that would make classic films in the end studios go with big directors for big films instead of taking the chance on people with vision or even people involved in the idea of the book in the first place, frustrating I know ! Independent films often have better plots and characters than the common blockbuster which is why many of my favourite films are from Asian cinema, they just do it better !
