There is a girl who likes me alot, but she is not my type...but you think I can brainwash myself to like her?

There is a girl I know for years likes me alot. She is a very good woman with great personality, kind hearted, intelligent, thoughful,caring,considerate....etc. She also treats my parents so well and they love her. But she is not my type....physically. I like thin girls but she is on the chubby side. I like girls with big eyes but she has tiny little small eyes. I know physically she is not attractive to me. But I know she is such a good person and will be a great future wife. Can I brain wash myself to love her, if so than how? I am sick and tiring of loving someone who doesn't love me.

maybe you can learn to overcome shallowness.

if she's great on the inside, can you truly not find beauty on the outside?

for me... if someone is attractive on the outside, but nasty on the inside, i can no longer find them physically attractive on the outside, either. and if someone is beautiful inside, but not considered beautiful on the outside, i've always felt that the beauty from inside radiated out.

What??? Your picking out her weight and the size of her eyes over the fact she is a nice person???

I don't think you should have to brainwash yourself to like anyone. If there is something between you it will happen naturally. Whether you like to think so or not, realistically physical attraction does play a part.

i think that if you really like her mentally and your compatable that is really good but if you go further with her than you have to think long turm if you marry her and some one better comes a long what would you do?? i think maybe you should date her first and see where it gose from there but dont rush into it i mean like date her for a year or two or three and really think about it.

i'm sorry, cos i know you're being serious. But just how desperate are you! "Brainwash myself to like her", just listen to yourself!

I ask myself this question many times --- there are so many guys who are kind-hearted, hard working, well educated, etc. .....but I just don't find them attractive.

There's no use trying to brain wash yourself -- been there! Tried it, didn't work. Wait for the girl who will turn you on AND make you feel loved and appreciated. Trust me, she's out there somewhere. With 3 billion women on this planet, you're bound to meet at least one you truly click with.

I don't know about brain wash, there is a chance you could fall in love with her quality characteristic, her degree of exceilence and look behond the few things you don't care for.It is possible she could loose weight over time.If she lost weight her eyes might look bigger with her face more thin.I myself could base a love on this,We all could gain weight and our out side beauty fade, you can love a person for what they are inside.Sometimes after awhile they be come more beautiful then you ever expected.

It doesn't matter what your reason for not being physically or romantically attracted to her - if you're not, you never will be. She sounds like someone to keep as a friend, maybe even a best friend. But not as a girlfriend or a future wife - you'd be fooling yourself AND hurting her in the long run (and wasting both of your time for.... years??)

That "It"s not my type" thing is not valid. You grow into liking different types. BUT personality is what gives long lasting attraction to a body. It could be that actually you don't like something in her personality. Stop listing her physical flaws, be honest and find out what repels you (including supposedly good qualities) in her personality.
For instance do you enjoy each other's sense of humour?
