They say that children are our future.?

They are our future...why not take the time from your own hectic life to be a mentor to some child who is in need of someone to relate to and perhaps learn just ONE thing that might help them become a better person? I do whenever I can.

Detroit has a 74% High School failure rate. Its already a savage jungle. God only know. I doubt they can be rehabilitated. Maybe a return to the cowboy days?

Geez I've seen some of these children and we're screwed!

Parents just don't care now days.... They pop these kids out and say screw it go do what you want. For four years while my little brother was in high school our home was basically a refuge for all the troubled teens in the neighborhood (yes he had many troubled friends). I've cooked numerous meals and made many beds for them. I've talked to them when they needed someone to talk to.. A-lot of these are good kids who just need guidance in their life. If parents would step up and take responsibilities for their actions, teach these kids right from wrong, worry where they're at and what they're doing then maybe this generation would have a chance... but honestly.. They're to worried about their drugs,alcohol and next (current) piece of ***. *not saying every parent is like this.. *

With that being said... I think our future is going to be OK.. It's my grandchildren and great grandchildrens future's I worry about. Because the cycle will continue... It will only get worse with time.

if many adults would concentrate on the present and taking a good look at their own behaviors, i believe that would increase the odds that more young people will not reflect the many screwed-up adults currently on this planet. responsibility belongs to us all.
