Only if it crosses a lady's boundaries or discredits them.

No, I don't agree at all. Males I have known have reacted much more than was warranted, therefore was an overreaction. Generalisations like this don't apply to people. We are all individuals. :-)

Honestly, I have experienced overreactions from both males and females. Once, it so happened that I turned a corner and accidentally came face to face with a girl who was also about to turn the corner. I was the one who reacted and even almost fell so that she would not collide with me, and she started howling and acted as if she had seen a geophagic holocaust survivor , or something worse. I later checked myself out, if I was okay. I found nothing horrific about me. On another occasion, I accidentally happened to drop a guy's glass plate, and I apologised immediately and told him I was willing to pay up the amount that plate cost. It was cheap and commonplace, really. He was so 'enraged', that he rushed to my room, took my favourite and relatively expensive table lamp and threw it away before I even realised it.

So I wouldn't dichotomize human overreaction based on gender. It just depends on the person. I have met and interacted with nice, accommodating and even unbelievably forgiving members of both sexes, so yeah, it's all about the person.

Not necessarily, but funny as a stereotype nevertheless. I've seen it go the other way, too, i.e., male overreaction.
