This girl likes me, what should I do?

O.K, so here are the details, because if the question was as simple as the headline, I might as well pack it in and stuff my face with transfats.

So I've been talking to this girl for a couple of months now. We finnaly met the other night. I like talking to her, but I am not drawn to her physically. I got out of a serious relationship soon before we started talking and she knew all about how hard of a time I was having. She has been there for me. I told her going into this date a couple nights ago that I don't know what I want, but I'm going in with an open mind. I think she really likes me, and want to see me again. I don't think I want to be in a relationship with this woman, although I still want to talk to her and go out and have some fun. What should I do? I do not want to lead her on, and I do not want to hurt her. Any advice on what I should do here?

Well obviously you have built a friendship with this girl and you don't want to lose her. I would say that you should stop saying THINK and tell her you know that you are not ready for a relationship and that you really enjoy her company and would really like it if you could remain friends. If she likes you so much, she will have no choice but to accept it. HOWEVER, if you happen to meet someone you really "want" than it isn't going to be easy for your friend to swallow because she will probably feel really rejected and not good enough making a friendship between the two of you difficult. So if you are looking for a relationship right now but just not with her, your best bet is just to be straight out and honest with her and let her decide if she could handle just being friends and be aware that there is a possibility you will be in a relationship with someone else. Hopefully she will be able to understand and the two of you can continue your friendship... And please don't be like my boyfriend and push her away when you find someone new... it's hurtful I can see it in his friend's face whenever we bump into her. Anyways, Good Luck!

JulySunSoul	Posted Sep 2nd, 2009 at 8:44PM i think the best thing you can do is just explain to her how you feel - not the 'you arnt attracted to her' bit maybe -because if she likes you it might put her completely off altogether. but maybe just explain that you really enjoyed her company and value her advice but you would prefer to just staying friends. even though you may have been talking to her for a while it doesnt immedietly mean you are past friendship levels. she should respect that if she respects you. You don't really want to hurt her... so let her know that. Learn to be a friend, but if she likes you in another way, then you run the risk of her not hearing what you are saying. But then again, she might be more mature than you realize. One thing I will say, is if your are going to be her friend, then be it! Don't play around with her feelings, don't give her false hope. But do... let her know what a real friend is. Lovers come and go... friends are there through thick and thin. Think about that... and maybe you'll learn to see her... with different eyes. This could be your one and only chance to have a more then friends relationship. If you dont feel like you like her in that way but still want to be her friend then be honest.
