well reverence for the presidency has been pretty much shot to hell by the presidents.......when one comes along that deserves some reverennce we can discuss it........as far as ignorant, oppinionated or and racist parents - well that's nothing new either....welcome to AMERICA....

While I think the whole thing is silly, I absolutely disagree with the premise that our children should be taught to revere politicians.

I didin't like Bush Sr. or Jr, but I wasn't out there pointing out every failure he had or did. Or would've wanted him to fail. He's was our president at the time.

Parents should always have the ultimate say. It doesn't matter if you or I agree with said parents' opinions of our president.

Some people are not fit to be parents,..but that doesn't stop them having kids...Thats why so many kids grow up to hate their rotten parents..

I think it's sad that the parents doing this, aren't thinking about the example they are setting for their children. Letting them think it is OK to disregard/ignore someone based on skin color. Foolish.

Bush got of on a good one once with the school kids! by telling them what he likes about america! freedom.

Parents are ridiculous. I don't agree with everything Obama is doing but I wouldn't refuse to let my child go to school if he was visiting...that's stupid.

I agree with the parents.I mean he.l,we don't allow prayer in schools nor do we allow the word Christmas in schools.Why should we allow the his speech!

Prayer and christmas are about RELIGION. Read the constitution folks - NO RELIGION in goverment - written in simple words in black and white. Don't like it - send your kid to a school where they will rot their brain with medieval propaganda.

As for the president - what does "The importance of education" have to do with anything banned in the constitution?

Perhaps folks should grow up and wake up and realize there is no more hiding place for ignorance and racisim.
