I don't like to dwell on things I cannot have or change. I move on quickly, I travel or take a class on something to take my mind off - it is all mind control. Five years and it took maybe a couple of months - I moved, got promoted, got a new car, started dating again - friends help a lot.

I don't think it takes long to get over a person, but it takes time to get over what went on in the relationship. What they did,what you did, why you made the choices you made, why it ended, why it began, why you stayed together the time you did. Some things you can't just "get over", but you can learn, grow, and change from them.
I find that speaking for Me,the longer the relationship was,the longer it takes,due to the fact that there were more memories to be forgotten about,the good memories even remind Me of the bad ones so it's best for Me to forget about all the memories altogether
