Hard wood everywhere but the bathrooms. You can always put carpet on top. ;)

I personally prefer hardwood floor.
But I will like to go for carpet, where ever possible, because it will be more comfortable for your feet.

Have had all three and prefer tiles throughout especially as I live in a generally hot climate and don't scratch as easy as timber and easier to clean than carpet

Tile in the kitchen; wood floors in the living areas; carpet in the bedrooms.
Best if you have a blanket. Rug burns suck.

I would say that carpet is best for the bedrooms and living area, and tile in the kitchen. But it is sometimes better to have hardwood floors and just put scraps of carpet or rugs over it, because it's a whole lot easier cleaning hardwood floor over carpet when your dog pees on the floor.

Tiles in kitchen and bathroom, where there's more humidity.
Harwood floors are nice and like you said; it is fragile and can get scratched easily.
Carpet, a little piece here and there.
