Tipping A Waiter/Waitress.

I have never tipped a waiter/waitress anything below 20 percent and I know the norm is 15 percent because having known people who chose this profession or did it while they were in college it is no different than paid enslavement.

If anybody has not tipped a waiter/waitress do tell why.

I like to pick one much smaller than myself, wait till dark..and a good hard shove knocks them right over.

I have only not tipped one person and I hope it was a good learning experience for her. She was very rude and didnt care about her service.

Its the way of the world. We spend lavishly from our income. But we cannot give tips to waiters. The hotel managements pay them the least. How can they survive?

I always tip 20% because money seems to affect people instantly. Restaurant staff remember habitual good tippers and vice-versa.

I am British and will not be co-ersed into American ways. We have a minimum wage law in this country and also a 'working tax credit' benefit so there is no need to tip.

It's coerced and you better ready to run if you didn't tip a waiter/waitress in America because it's not different than not paying the check at all.

Wow an American who can spell! .....and the sentence you were looking for was...It isn't ANY different from not paying the bill...................I was talking about in the UK not in America. I am fully aware that it is a different situation in the US and it is expected as they are paid sh1t wages.

Tipping when hey bring the food to your table and clean up after you is understandable but when some one hands you a cookie over the counter and expect a tip in their jar is unacceptable.

Well there are certain exceptions like I'm not going to go out of my way to "overtip" a coffee shop barista.

I tip. But when it comes to pizza delivery...I am a cheapskate. I am not rich but I do tip them anywhere from 1 dollar to 10 bucks. Depending on my mood and when they deliver on time.
