My wife was the daughter of a Baptist minister and pricipal at a local Christian school. Her Mother also taught at the school. Now we're talking strict fundamentalist...woman in the kitchen...man in charge...dresses to the neck and below the knees kind of thing.

Well, when she was about 16 her mother and father decided to "switch churches". As you may know depending on the religion this can be considered backsliding and evil...Thsi teenage girl was told her parents would go to hell....

She made a decision to stay with the church, while her parents went elsewhere. This ws a terrible ordeal for a young girl, who was now to consider her family unwelcome and unchristian.

We all know this isn't right....
God is better than we are and doesn't mind which church you go to...as long as you follow your heart and do "wjwd".

Peace

There is religion and then there is spirituality that comes from growing closer to God. Why not take the higher path? Forget about dogma, the rote memorization of prayer, and just showing up on Sundays. Start seeking God in your everyday life. When was the last time you whispered a prayer of thanks after seeing a beautiful sunrise? Have you marveled at all the faces on the street and thought about man being created in God's image. Did you stop to smell his roses lately? Did you treat "the least of his brothers" the way you would treat Christ himself?

ACT. BE. LIVE. Don't worry about which church or churchs you visit. Be so busy becoming close to God that everyone who sees you will know you are a Christian and want to be as peaceful and full of grace as you are!

May your heart, mind, and spirit be blessed!

No...no....no....

God is a loving God...and He wants you to learn about Him, where you feel comfortable, where you feel acceptance, and where you feel His presence....and to do that, sometimes, we have to switch churches.....I know I did...and I am so much more happy....and closer to God.

well if you are asking if God will get angry is you switch churches? heck no! You might outgrow the church you are in now and need to find another one. do you think God would punish you if you moved and had to find a new church.. i dont think so. Trust me i recently changed churches and the one I am at helped me get even closer to God

Jazzmin -

Whoever the Creator is, I'm guessing she (or maybe he) had absolutely nothing to do with the creation of churches, which are responsible for more human death than any disease you might name.

Koilady is absolutely right - to my way of thinking. Forget "churches" and concentrate on the private matter of your own Spirituality.

Or, as the smartest man I've ever known once told me:

"You don't have to march in line on Sundays to appreciate a sunset."

Inorder to experience the rath of God you would have to have really offended him. If you feel like you are not spirtually growing in that church, or the members/Pastors are corrupt then you have every right to switch to a church where you can feel God presence. The Lord will not be mad at you for wanting to seperate yourself from negative people who are messing with you faith/salvation. So if you reason for going to another church are legit, than he is on your side and he will make sure you find a better church, but if your reason are negative, then pepare to suffer your cinsequences from chocies you made. Remmeber God does not punish, we make chocies on our own,if it's good than only goos will come if it's a bad choice watch out.

No. Not unless you are switching to a church that worships Satan, and then yeah, God might get pretty mad over that. Church can be anywhere, not just in a specific building. God is everywhere so if you and some of your friends are sitting on your porch discussing God or reading scripture, you are technically having Church.
