To be human is...?

to be imperfect.

To be Human is to be humane, to be humane we must be charitable, gentle, kind, merciful, sympathetic and tender, civil, courteous or obliging towards humans and animals.
If we are not humane then we are in-humane, if we inhumane we are appalling, atrocious, brutal, callous, cruel, heartless, merciless and sadistic.

To me to be human is to be free of corruption & greed. Not to be blind to others pain and suffering, to want to help others and not be shy of expressing are feelings.

As RobertHedrock said - being human is often a pain in the arse; but since I'm here, I suppose I better make the best of it, eh! We humans have a magnificent piece of bio-engineering for a body, but the "civil" world we've made ourselves to live in needs greatly improving... Nature is nice, though, by and large.

We have great potential as "Beings of the Universe having a human experience", but sadly its all too difficult to reach that potential, and few ever really do, I'd say...

to be human is to fail and get up and try again. To have days when you cry and think you are worthless.

It is to be ourselves. To accept that we are flawed and imperfect. To learn, grow, and improve....but to realize that we ahave limitations. It is to realize that we are only a part of a greater whole, and not set apart from it or better than it. It is to have respect, compassion, understanding, and dignity toward our fellow human beings. It is realizing that we are only flesh and blood, we have our strengths and weaknesses, we have our triumphs and our failures. It is thinking, feeling, and reasoning....for we are all one and all related.

is to be aware that there is misery and to know that we may have many joys in life which we should surely enjoy, but that once we have had our fair fill, we must retire into ourself to deal with that root cause of misery; but all this not before we have had our fair fill :-)
