    alittlehappier has a point and so does brainyblonde. i have known, personally, people who are successful in the way you mean BECAUSE of their goodness -- honesty -- refusing to bend the rules.

    If you look at successful people, most if not all have been ruthless in their pursuits of success. Their outter personality for the media and friends will be different from their work ethics and work environment, where they demand quick work, demanding work attitude and fast pace.

    It depends on where you are. In the USA, you can skip docile and good. But in a small village in Bali or northern India, you might get some credit for being a decent human being who is easy to get along with.
