Resolved Question

Today, I stopped in the church and prayed, with good result.?

my husband has ben feeling sick for a month. We tried the doctors. No help. Today, I stpped in the chruch just thought I would pray. Visit with Jesus. My church friend was there working. I helped her carry things, rearrange the place for the service. WE got to talking. She knew that I was feeling bad so we talked..Then we got down on our knees and prayed, for me and my husband. Later, when I got home, my husband says "Guess what! Just all of a sudden I am well" Im flabbergasted. I said when did you start to feel better? He said about two hours ago. Just all the pain stopped. I smiled. He said "Where have you been all this time?" I wanted to tell you! I said" I have been at the church praying for your health" He said Noooo, dont tell me that. I said its true. Your well. Im happy.

Weigh this result vs. the billions of prayers uttered every single day that go unanswered. Don't you suppose that any person that is about to die in a natural disaster such as a flood or earthquake or tornado wants to live and has prayed with all their might to survive, only to be extinguished carelessly? Wouldn't it be a monstrous thing for God to grant your prayer and make your husband's pain alleviate and ignore the life and death prayers uttered every second of every day?

God does indeed work in mysterious ways. So mysterious in fact that it's almost like he's not there....

The universe is not cruel, it's simply indifferent.

Shellfinder,
I'm very happy to hear your husband is doing well. Prayer is an amazing thing. Keep your prayers going and stay encouraged.

Prayer is not a magic lamp you just rub and *poof* out pops a jolly genie guaranteed to grant your every wish and desire (even in the case of life or death). God simply works on his own schedule and for reasons only he understands. You may never find the answer to the questions you seek in this lifetime. Death is almost always unexpected. Do you feel we should all live forever? Out of the millions of seeds your father carried you just happen to exist. It is no coincidence you exist instead of your other siblings that didn't arrive at your mother's egg.

Furthermore, I feel it very insensitive of you to step on this woman's joy. Happiness is a personal thing and my mother always taught me "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."

I seem to recall you commenting on a story of mine and describing yourself as somewhat of an EP Super-hero Superheros (even comics) do courageous things that turn victims into victors.....What did you leave here for this woman? Could it be joy, encouragement or self-doubt?

tsk tsk tsk

Hey! Good for you! It could be karma involved too. You stopped and helped some one and then you were helped. What goes around, comes around. Awesome :-)

I am so very happy for your and your husband. Treasure each second you have together and don't put things off until tomorrow. Go on those vacations you want to go on. Do all of the things you can possibly do together. Make each other your number one priority above all else.

I prayed every day, several times a day, for over a year, for my precious husband of 36 years's, life to be spared and my answer was not like yours at all. The complete opposite. Although the two Cancer's he was suffering from did heal completely, but the fluid was still on his lung.

A Doctor, deliberately killed my husband, by doing a procedure he knew would take his life. He was and is my EVERYTHING, since I was 16 years old. I just have to find "the way" for us to be "us" again, somehow. I pray you will never walk in my shoes.

Hugs & Blessings,
LKRK

I tell you from the botton of my heart that prayer works. If we have not an answer, a specific answer, it is because we did not pray a specific prayer.God is real. When the Bible says:ask and it will be given to you, it is true. The Bible is not the word of an intelligent man.It is the Word of God.IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD TO LIE.Congratulations for the love you have towards your husband.

I think that's a wonderful thing that you can feel you were able to help your husband in this manner. I think all God wants us to do is believe in him of our on free will. Sure people die at times when they have prayed for help but is that the only time that most pray? I think you had nothing to lose but the time it took to stop at the church. Maybe that's all it takes, to reconnect. Now someone should pray for you for being so selfless. God Bless you from me.

Praise God! and good on you! Prayer is such an amazing thing! I realized a couple of years ago that selfless prayer is the answered prayer. I am sure this answered prayer has strengthened your faith in God and in doing so has worked for the greater good, to bring more people to Him, for it is through our faith that others find Him. God has blessed your family and in a direct and obvious way! All praise to our creator, who is able to do anything!
