Really depends on the people involved, so I'd have to say false. There are people who are not married or can't be (I think of a few gay & lesbian couples I've known) who have been in committed, deep relationships for decades. And there are legal marriages where spouses cheat, swap or swing on a regular basis.

False choice. It depends on the person.

Totally FALSE......for most people, perhaps, that marriage license is 'all' for many of us, including me, it's only a piece of paper....
The committment two people have to and for each other does not need that license..........except, of course, (& unfortunately!!) for the 'legal' stuff involving wills, etc., etc...............

I think it is a falsehood propagated by religion and out-dated principles. Marriage was originated to protect a man's heritage and birthright and for centuries was practiced only by the weathy. A deep fulfilling relationship depends only upon the commitment of each party involved to themselves and each other. The marriage certificate is a legal contract which cannot dictate our feelings.

A marriage is only a piece of paper it is the commitment that makes a relationship matter or not
