UK folks: Why is it a big deal that Pr. Charles has his letters concealed from the public? Isn't he allowed to express..
his opinions and concerns like any other UK subject? Shouldn't his correspondence be private? Do you really think he was "meddling" in state affairs? I thought his thing was mainly GMOs and environmentalism. Can you give us your perspective? I'm not a UK citizen, but I am a fan of the royal family. I don't see what the big deal is. Shouldn't a future king get involved politically (to the extent that he can)? He seems like a sincere, intelligent prince. Your thoughts please.

The continuing existence of the monarchy kind of rests on them not getting involved in state policy, since it looks anti-democratic. To be honest, I see no problem with them being involved with non-governmental campaigns, it's when they have private meetings with elected officials that it gets dodgy.

Actually he is meant to stay above all that. They, ( the Royals), handed over their day to day powers long long time ago. Look at what the Queen does, ie say nowt, he should too. PS he is not as popular as his son, team Diana kinda won.
