Under what circumstances does age matter ?

Online (and above legal age where appropriate), minds can share many things and age often becomes irrelevant. I have shared wonderful discussions with old souls in younger minds and young souls in older minds. I've also seen the lack of mutual understanding when the young lack the wisdom of age, or the old become intolerant of the young. Online, minds can often connect without the predisposition that comes from meeting face-to-face. But in the real world, age can matter when it comes to the practical and the practicable. Each situation is unique and those involved should be respected for their choices.

I think age is one thing but maturity another; for example, having children and raising them, I wish we had a meter than could tell whether someone is responsible enough. If we did, we could use it for drinking, voting, license to drive.
Until that's invented, ( ha) we need to set an age limit to protect all of us from them and them from themselves.Like (2)

When negotiating a professional sports contract. It's why so many of the ba
seball pla yers from the Caribbean lie about their ages. It means more money for them, and they can get away with it if they are from places that have shoddy and suspect record keeping. Like (2)

Physical maturity, education, law and legality of drug use.
Anywhere else, it doesn't matter no matter how much people say it does.
Though in my opinion you should be able to be arrested and put in jail from the moment you're a teenager.Like (1)

Most, actually. By law, one has to be a certain age to do just about anything, but society always favors the young. Once one reaches a certain age, they are deemed undesirable.
