B12 can be found as a supplement in all sorts of vegan and vegetarian foods. It comes from algae and bacteria, not animals. It's just that people who eat meat end up consuming those bacteria incidentally, thus getting their B12.<br />

Protein - all sorts of places. Primarily legumes like beans and lentils, but there are many sources for proteins.<br />
<br />
In a nutshell, you can get all the nutrients you need without harming animals.
