WHATS HIS PROBLEM!?

My friend randomly starts arguing with me over my smallest comments! I'll just say what happened, we were watching this commertial for this birth control that makes females have their period only 3 times a year, I made a comment on how unhealthy that sounds, and yea, he just went off. my best guess is that he's intimidated, he's always had the girls swarming around him, but i have my smarts, he may seem jealous because i always seem right, truth is i only argue when i DO know im right, other then that i stay silent and observe the convo.

so my question, is their a way i can avoid this without going into a vow of silence or letting him win the debates?

Many people are intimidated by people who are smarter or have more information than them, it's easier to argue or go off at them in the hope of shutting them up than to be humble and learn fro them. It's plain old ignorance!

I don't know what his problem is - maybe his life-situation is making him tetchy - but if I were in that position and an argument got too heated, I would end it by saying, "Well, I'm not going to argue further, its a waste of our energy and I have stated my case." And if he keeps on about it, I would totally ignore it, or leave the room.

I just think he is annoyed that you are always right (a direct hit to his male pride) & he come's off as always being wrong. Even if it's the smallest thing most guyz can't handle when one of us girls is right & they come out as being wrong. Just to boost his male pride let him be right once in a while on small matters & maybe he won't sulk 2 much.
