A nerd was always just someone who is good in school, but socially awkward. I'm not sure how that has mushroomed into them being some new life form .. lol
Hi Ernie, I'm snowed in here too in IL .. it's getting really OLD too!
I don't think you were a nerd .. but what do I know. My husband was a nerd for sure .. and still is, he's an engineer. :)
I'd call it anyone with a major passion and large knowledge ba<x>se for something. Know the best pla<x>yer's of a sport better than the commentators or other professionals in the industry, then your a sports nerd, know the dates of major events that shaped history off the top of your head, than your a history nerd, know just about every gun how they operate and their history/ intended use, then your a gun nerd, that simple.
yeah if you become celeb school or rockstar, date with popular people, good at sport
I'd say i'm a geek.. not sure what a nerd means though. It sounds a bit american.
Geeks and nerds were always the same thing IMO. They're used interchangeably in the US.
In my opinion the word 'nerd' merely refers to your personal tastes and interests, so you can still be a 'cool' nerd (like me hehe). On the other hand, I think the word 'geek' has more negative connotations, regarding overall personality, awkwardness, appearance etc.
usually fashion impaired, socially awkward, intellectually focused & doesn't fit with the superficial norm
Seems to be whoever upsets you at the moment?
