    I'd say a bachelors degree. He was never referred to as doctor, and Sherlock doesn't strike me as the kind of man who'd pursue titles- he's well above a phD, but I suspect he'd be eager to get out of university as soon as he could.

    He was a fictional character,a man who never existed in real life,so it was up to the author to decide.
