Having my husband out of town at the time, and being woke at 2:30 a.m. to the sound of someone downstairs. Checked on the children (were small at the time), they were asleep. Knew someone broke into the house. Part of me was terrified, the other furious someone had the nerve to break in my house. Called the police, put the clip in to a 9mm and stood at the top of the stairs and waited for the police to arrive or whoever was in the house, to start up the stairs.

They walked up to the stairs, looked up, saw me, saw the gun, froze, I said "leave" and ran they out of the house.
