My dad was a Marine who fought in Korea.
    He rarely talked about it.

You talking about the book by General Simmons or the actual battle of the Changjin reservoir? UN X corp forces, a.k.a. the Chosin Few, under Gen. Almond got surrounded by 67,000 Chinese troups. A tough battle under freezing conditions. One of the more decisive ones of Korea.

I remember reading about it and have acquaintances who fought there. They very seldom will talk about it.
