Resolved Question

We all say never bottle up your emotions, but do you? Or delay them?

I must admit to myself yes if not delay them. One of the greatest life lessons learned is that when faced with a threat I hold it in and am nice to the preditors face but after it's over I have a breakdown. Even in lesser cases I am too nice when I should just fight for my life. Thank you Epeeps for opening my eyes (question inspired by answers)

not really. but then again, i don't dwell much on emotion anyway. it's there, then it's not. i don't care enough to react.

i used to repress but i later learned to delay. sometimes blowing up is not acceptable. sometimes the timing isn't right to deal with things right then. i do deal with it tho. i don't leave stuff on the back burner coz that's how i ended up in some heat in the past.

Unfortunately yes I do. I can't help but hold it in. It doesn't work though. Not in the least bit.

If I did bottle my emotions up especially towards my boyfriend, it would turn into a greater problem than it should be. Bringing up how I felt about things from a week ago isn't a healthy way to go about it. I think the emotions need to come out within 24 hours at least.

I delay some that may cause me to react a little more dramatically than what I know I should. Sometimes things have to really sink in before I can rationally emotionalize them.

I don't even bother with my emotions anymore. As long as there isn't drama in my life, it's okay.

I often delay reacting to my emotions, thankfully. Reacting in the heat of the moment can often end in over-reacting. If I think about it for a while, it usually is not nearly as big as what it seemed at the moment.

I can't repress/suppress feelings or I physically get ill. I'll sometimes take time to sift through things before reacting.

I don't let them fester. Letting it out, saves for a whole lot of heartache later. Sharing my feelings with someone that said something that bothered me, often makes it easier to move on.
