Were you ever told you must always respect your elders no matter what they do to you even if they are wrong?

No and although I always have respected my elders and others throughout life I refused to crap and stood up for others as well.

Not quite---I was taught to be respectful, not to respect their opinions

I was told that, as a young child. I have since grown up and know, now, to make my own decisions for myself.

I was taught to respect all people, and I try to. No matter what a person does, I can maintain respect. I don't have to like a person in order to respect them. I don't have to like a person in order to love them.
