I was 4 or 5, my dad was driving me home from the fair after too many beers from the beer tent. He fell asleep and smashed into a stone wall on the opposite side of the road. I remember riding back to my moms house in the cop car.

Being carried by my dad when he and my mom were looking at the house they were to buy, the house I grew up in. I was almost 2 years old when they bought it in 1974.

1966. I was three years old. My Mom was in the hospital having my sister. My Grandmother and I sat in the yard and watched while a broken down 18 wheeled was hooked up to a wrecker and towed away.

My fourth birthday. I was watching cartoons wrapped in my favorite blanket early in the morning out in the family room. Then my mom got up and said, "Do you know what today is?" I said, "No." She said, "It's your birthday."
