Wrap hand in streil gauze and apply pressur to control bleeding. Call am anbulance and/or go to the hospital. If you refuse to go to the hospital, if object is still in the hand, don't remove the object, wrap it in roll gauze so as to stabalize the object, elevate hand, and go to hospital. If the object is no longer in the hand, rinse debrit awas from area of injury, place dry steril dressing around hand, elevate while applying pressure to stop the bleeding, change dressing ONLY if bandage soaks through. It is always best to let a doctor look at your injury to make suer no nervs, muscles, or bones are damaged. You have a better chance of fixing any damage at the hospital rather then days after the injury. Also, it is best to get antibiotics for any infection that may occure. You could lose your hand from the infection alone.

First thing, loose conscienceness. Second thing, wake up and be embarassed. Third thing, clean the wound. Forth thing, bandage it. Fifth thing, smoke a cigarette.

1) Flush with peroxide, 2) If very deep or ragged cut seek medical attention; else butterfly band aid and cover w/ sterile gauze, 3) Keep it clean and change bandage daily, 4) Since you are careless, next time let someone else do the cutting.

OR... If someone else cut you, have them arrested!

If the sharp object was embedded in my hand from my husband, due to my cooking....I'd be grateful! I wouldn't have to cook for awhile! WhooHoo

Use wound wash containing chlorhexedine gluconate.
Dress the wound, suitably.
Keep the hand elevated by using a sling of some sort, thus reducing bleeding and the horrible throbbing.

If the sharp object is still in the wound and it's deep - DO NOT remove it; it's probably this which is stemming the flow of blood. Apply pressure, either with your hand or a clean towel. Elevate it above your heart - this will slow the blood flow, then get to A&E for stitches/bandages etc.
If the cut isn't that deep, you can remove the foreign object, put on a plaster and stop being so soft, lol.

Pack it with cayenne pepper powder (doesn't burn or sting) to coagulate the blood. Get to the hospital if it is deep, should get stitches. Any object or material in the wound go to a hospital.
