What are deal breakers (looks and personality) for you when considering someone for a relationship?

People that don't look at relationships as "deals" that get broken based on a list of predetermined criteria.

For me, it's far better to have someone totally redefine my criteria of the ideal rather than just meet what I already have in mind. The person that can turn you on with what you didn't think would ever turn you on is the One. Anyone else is just a temporary fix. This is one of the main reasons why many relationships decay fairly quickly.

As far as looks, too many people are hung up on appearances and can't see as far as that, which in my book makes them shallow. The most beautiful person can seem that way until they open their mouth, then they become the most ugliest person.
Now, as far as personality, no one can be 100% compatible, we are all different, we each have our own quirks. What I won't tolerate is a cheater, someone who physically/mentally abuses another, drugs, alcoholics. Those aren't personalities but rather behaviors.

Good hygiene a must and NON controlling - first sign of jealousy and he's OUT!!!! Those are the ones who will beat you- the control freaks!

Intelligence. Nobody likes a dingbat. Smart chicks rule.

A deal breaker for me--after a 30 year marriage has ended--mine would be being with a man who doesn't give me the same as I would give him. It's all going to be new for me -but Ihave a quote on my desk that reads "Don't make someone a priority-when they only make you an option." I lived that for 30 years--and I will never do it again--so looks have nothing to do with it--personality-they way a person treats someone--oh yes--that's huge--and fortunately--I've learned several hard life lessons--so hopefully same mistake won't be made again.

personality- unkind ( first sign of this and I'm gone)
dishonest
chauvinistic- ( a little bit is ok, but too much is dangerous)

If he's rude to the waiter, he's out.

As for looks, I am repulsed by those who leers. It's biased perhaps but that's how I feel.

At the shallow end of the pool, I have to say height is an issue to me. I'm fairly tall and I tend to like guys taller than me.
Otherwise, I'm just into a good sense of humor, intelligence, genuine sincerity and kindness.
The no's would be on arrogance, inability to communicate, and lying.

Deal breakers?

A guy who is full of himself, lies about the things he does, even when he's caught red-handed, and is controlling.

infidelity and cruelty (and that includes cruelty towards animals)

When it comes to looks i'm not picky. I like a bad azz looking guy though can't lie about that. He has to b taller than I. I love a smart azz that can joke. He can't be controlling. He has to be sweet and a family kind of guy.

Not too greatly specific about looks, just as long as I find them attractive. Piercings, scars, tattoos, I love them all.

Personality wise....non-judgmental, isn't overly critical, compassionate, very passionate. Doesn't have to be very religious just as long as he doesn't go out of his way to worship satan. Also makes me want to be a better person but is accepting of me regardless.

Looks.....I don't have a particular look that would either disqualify someone, or that I am attracted to....

Personality....given my experience....I think the main thing with personality, is that he has HIS OWN....no personality disorders....he must be kind...compassionate....and be able to show empathy....He should be affectionate...considerate...and have morals. His having faith, would be very important to me.

Even if I didn't have asthma I would not be interested in a relationship with someone who smokes.

In no particular order:

lack of curiosity about life and the world in general and me in particular, smoking, poor hygiene, poor communication, cruelty of any kind (words and deeds), racist attitudes, religious fanaticism of any kind ... probably a lot more, but that's it for the minute.

Lookswise, probably nothing especially - very short doesn't work for me as I'm tall, but not that bothered if all the other boxes are ticked.

As far as the personality....intelligent, good sense of humor and "balanced" temper. Looks? A great smile...eyes that "tell the story." I personally don't like tattoos or piercings but that might be a generational thing.

Looks wise, the only real deal breaker is someone who is shorter than me. I like to wear heels and I'm 5'8 so I like a guy who is at least my height when I'm barefoot. I do love tats and kind of "manly" men but being a pretty boy isn't a deal breaker.

Personality wise, someone who is intelligent and loves to have philosophical conversations. A sense of humor is the must. Other than that, I'm not picky. He doesn't have to like all of the things that I like just as long as he's not super clingy and doesn't try to change me just as I won't try to change him.

But ugly, "traditional" girl (want's her daddy to protect her and provide for her) thug, stupid, druggy, drunk, new age doushe bag , *** hole, I think that's about it.
