the Tomorrow When The War Began series by John Marsden. There are 7 books in the series, and then a small series of 3 after them :)

Good 'ol socrates1984, spot on, "good" is a subjective word. What are some good books to read begs the question; good for what? Do you want general enlightenment? According to S & G, the bathroom walls will suffice for that.

If you're looking for something wise but less smelly, I would suggest the visionary business management book titled, "Breakpoint & Beyond - Mastering the Future Today", by George Land and Beth Jarman While it is business orientated, it is an excellent roadmap to the future for people more generally. An excerpt;

"Connection. We are connected inexorably to one another. We are all part of an interconnected whole, and any energy we spend putting up walls is swimming upstream against nature, and is going to cost us in stress, pain and the quality of our lives. It is non-judgmental respect or "unconditional love" for all employees that allows organizations to make major strides in fulfilling their vision."
