What are some of the signs of a damaged cervix?

About a year and a half ago I had an abortion, it was my second one, I also have two live births. I've noticed after this abortion things down there have not been acting the same. I bleed after intercores, with abdominal discomfort, at one time I had went to the doctor found out I had cyst on my ovaries, was put on Depo shot to cure it I guess. Symptoms went away for a time, but I still would spot after intercourse, I am now off the shot, and started bleeding very heavily after intercorse. So I was wondering if having an abortion could have caused me some damage in my cervix? What are some suggestions on this matter?

Check with your doctor for Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. It is curable, however it can cause damage on your reproductive organs when it isn't treated! Some of the symptoms you have described seem to fit the diagnosis! It's best to rule all things out!!

It could be Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, as Lost said. It could also be a sign of Endometriosis. Go back to your doctor or OB-Gyn for a check - both diseases can leave you sterile (and in a lot of pain) if left untreated.

Your cervix is just a muscle, and so I would have thought that any physical damage you suffered from an abortion would definitely have healed by now. However, the spotting and abdominal pain during intercourse are definitely signs of an ongoing problem - you need to get that checked out.
