What are some solutions for waking up after falling asleep?

It seems the last few months, a few minutes after I fall asleep, I wake back up. Then it takes a while to fall back asleep again. It seems to happen every night now. I don't feel any jerks or spasms when it happens, I just wake up. Thanks!

Melatonin... 3 mg I think is the standard dose.

It is all natural, sold where vitamins are sold (drug store, etc) and was recommended to me by a doc. Also, cut back the caffeine and don't work out within 3 hours of bed time.

You may have sleep apnea. Talk to your doctor. They have sleep tests.
Sleep apnea can be very dangerous because you stop breathing and usually that's what wakes you up.

Sometimes you can actually trick you mind into having kinda a "inner alarm clock"

Imaginbe in your head waking up at that certain time and tell your self as your falling aslepp "Im going to wake uo at x time" over and over..

It works for me :)

There are natural vitamins that help you to feel more relaxed like Nutra Sleep
certain scents like lavender are relaxing
get more exercise during the day
don't drink caffeine before bed
don't stress out when you do wake up cuz that will cause you to stay awake longer. maybe go to bed a bit later

Try to exercise before bed time so that you are a bit tired physically. If this doesn't work you will need to learn how to sleep and fall back to sleep. Remove all stress thoughts before sleeping might help. Good Luck.
