Asking more questions about your existence and your relationship to the world, then try to answer them first. The consultation with more mature people after that will help.
I think that the essence of each individual is love. There are thoughts about love, speeches about love and actions concerning love. This is only a primary and shallow step.
We need to think deeper and broader about love; making more sweet and convincing speech about love; and most importantly translating love into reality with great joy and happiness. This requires constant training that love becomes our habit, our cultural being. Finally, we become love without thoughts, speeches and actions at all. We go through life as an invisble creature from the spiritual world.

Myers Briggs tests, Keirsey test, True Colours test, or aptitude tests. Have fun, but try not to overdo it! :-)

Start listening, stop judging. Listen to yourself even when something feels awful - it will pass, and usually quicker than you expect. Listen when others tell you something - you dont have to agree, but listen respectfully. Even when it's hurtful, it's either true or it's not. True you can adjust, not and it doesnt matter anyway. Good luck.

Think about those things that influence (bother, upset, inspire, fill with glee, etc.) you the most, and don't ignore ANY of the thoughts you have or the emotions you feel in response to it. Especially emotions -- I believe emotions are rooted in deeper thoughts and beliefs that you may not be fully aware of, so they can tip you off to things you haven't fully realized.

I've learned a lot about myself this way. It's scary as hell, but it's brought me closest to the truth.

You are unique, constantly changing and learning as new information filters through you. They say you can learn a lot about people by the friends they keep. ZombieKitty has a good answer.

Spend quiet time by yourself. Take time to think about things that REALLY matter and ask yourself would you do to change things or make things better. What r some things that you wouldn't do? Write them down and stick to your guns when your tested in the real world. And of course, life experiences. These are some ways you can learn about yourself.

1. Create and maintain a daily journal.

In this journal, record your daily experiences and interactions. Take special note of your emotional reaction to these experiences, along with your thoughts and opinions about them. While writing, focus on just getting these thoughts onto paper...don't critique yourself. Doing this will help you to see your pattern of thinking...what makes you tick as a person.

For particularly positive or negative experiences, definitely go in depth. Constantly ask yourself why you feel a certain way, or why do you think that particular way.

2. VISIT the past, not live in it

Take time in your journal to revisit past experiences and analyze them. Why did this experience happen? Why did I act/react this way? What were my thoughts and feelings? You're analyzing the past in order to find out how you became the person you are. After analyzing the past in your journal...PUSH it out of mind. Your past shaped you as a person, but your present defines you.

3. Live in the moment

Fully experience your life. Focus all your attention on thing at a time, whether its a task, a place, a person, a conversation, whatever. Use and pay attention to all of your 5 senses. Take notice of your emotions and your thoughts...but don't let them consume you, and rule your life. Live in the moment, and you'll realize yourself as a person.

4. Live with wisdom

There's 2 halves to your brain. 1 half is the logical left side, and the other is the emotional right side. Use BOTH of these sides in order to make the decisions of your life and know yourself. The logical side will make decisions based only on the cold hard facts of the situation. The emotional side will make decisions based only on your feelings and impulses. In situations, take stock of all the facts and your feelings, and use this combined information to THEN make decisions and conduct your life.

I wrote them all out over a period of 3 days or so, and it was a real eye opener when I reviewed them to pick out a common theme in my answers.
