Airforce or not he will be gone for long periods of time. As a former serviceman myself I can tell you I saw many relationships struggle. When you are in there all you think about is being back at home and enjoying the things you do with your free time. As for your side of things I can only suggest you imagine everyday what he is doing and how much he wants to be home.
