Here's the rules at most places: you must be at least 16, weigh at least 110 pounds, you have not donated in the last 8 weeks, you are healthy and you are not currently taking antibiotics, you don't have flu or cold symptoms when you donate, you don't feel well, you have never used IV drugs, you have never had hepatitis since you were 12, or you never tested positive for Hepatitis B or C, and you are not at risk of catching HIV or spreading AIDS.

8. Never had sex with another man if you are male as you claim.
9. Not pregnant.
10. Certian amount of time from tatoos and piercings must take place before giving.
11. Blood pressure must be good. Not to high or low.
12. These are the basic things they have others. the screening takes about 5 minuets and they will tell you yes or no. but it is worth it. A single pint can save upto 3 people.

You must not donate in the UK if you are a man who has EVER had anal sex with another man.
If you are a woman you can donate your blood again after having anal sex after 12 months.

So you want to be give blood? Forget the nerves of steel, the charisma, the skeleton-free closet, the fund-raising network, the thick skin and the legions of loyal folks who agree with your stance on all the issues. Just to get into the clinic, you have to ask: How old are you and where were you born?
Only native-born U.S. citizens (or those born abroad, but only to parents who were both citizens of the U.S.) may donate blood, though from time to time that requirement is called into question. The Constitution originally provided a small loophole to this provision: One needn't have been born in the United States but had to be a citizen at the time the Constitution was adopted. But, since that occurred in 1789, that ship has sailed.
One must also be at least 35 years of age to give blood. There is no maximum age limit set forth in the Constitution.
Finally, one must live in the United States for at least 14 years to be able to donate blood, in addition to being a natural-born citizen. The Constitution is vague on this point. For example, it does not make clear whether those 14 years need to be consecutive or what the precise definition of residency is. So far, however, this requirement has not been challenged.
