They are bi-polar, they like changing stuff for no good reason
EP uses a "token" system, and they allow purchases of tokens. As a business (all websites are), EP needs to generate revenue and drive it towards themselves to pay the light bills, pay the developers, pay the hosting costs, et cetera.
The changes to EP (which I have not yet noticed) are an attempt to engage the community and eliminate the 'burden' of folks with free accounts who abuse EP like they used to use Craigslist or Backpage.
They just happen to fail at it.
The easy route. Nothing else.
who knows , I'd think some of the members why live in San Francisco would get over to a meeting and ask that question
I think its an open source software..starts with a d.. cant think of it right now.
and the staff are idiots.
