"Berlin " the downfall 1945--- by Anthony Beevor , best selling historical work . Glad i bought it , very accurate ,unbiased ,well written account of this event.
Escape, by Carolyn Jessop. She was born into a fundamentalist religious cult, at the age of eighteen was forced to marry a fifty-year-old man, and was treated as property because that's how women were. This book is about her escape (with her *eight* children) from this polygamous society, where women had no say in their futures and their sole purpose was to do what the corrupt "prophet" instructed, marry who & when he appointed them to, and bear as many children over their lifetime as possible.
It's so, so, so intense. I can't take my eyes off it and I can hardly believe the contents are true. It's turning out to be one of my favourite books. A strong woman, overcoming dangerous opression, and rescuing herself and her children to build a better life. Astonishing.
my thoughts ....
Reading puts me to sleep.

Calvin and Hobbes!
The Return of Sherlock Holmes
Inherit the Stars by James P. Hogan. It's an out-of-print science fiction book with the premise that when man "first" landed on the moon, they found a human corpse, suggesting that man had in fact already been there. You'd think it isn't much in terms of "deeper meaning," but it really makes you think about knowledge: how what we know, why we know what we know, and how we know that we know what we know.
You can get it really cheap used online. Mine cost less than shipping.
The holy Quran.
I am reading the Holy Books because these are
the days of new spirituality. All old sciences
and philosophies have failed to be applied for
global problems, globalization and world cooperation.
This is the first time in human history that we have
the Internet where men can read any Holy Books
and can exchange views for suitable solutions
of our complete new wolrd, New Jerusalem, New Heaven
and New Earth.
I also read other literature on the Internet, but Holy Books
are my first priority, because their meanings are eternal
These Books are no longer exclusive to the priests, but
they are educational source for all human beings.
Never in history that Holy Books are at the fingertips
of each and all individuals.
