What are your opinions on the tragic case of Baby P?

It has been little over two years now since the tragic tot Peter Connolly (refered to by media as "Baby P") was brutally murdered by his mother Tracey and her lover Stephen Barker. Found with over 50 injuries, including a broken back and broken ribs (which a doctor failed to diagnose when she examined him), missing tops of fingers, dog or human bites and numerous cuts, he had been trained as though he were a dog, and abused both physically and emotionally from day 1.
What are your opinions on this tragic case? Were the sentences just? If not, what punishment should they recieve? Is prison too good for what have been branded "these monsters"? Did child protection authorities fail Baby Peter and generally, what are your thoughts. If you're willing to tell them, I'm willing to listen to them!

Well, the first thing that should be done is irreversible sterilisation for both to ensure they can never create this situation again.
After that, life imprisonment and a little taste of the torture and fear they inflicted upon this innocent child. Yes, put them into the general population and not see watch the gen-pop does to them.
I am not normally a vindictive person, but these sick puppies are beyond my ken.

Nobody was protecting that poor baby, why should his abusers/murderers be protected? Rated: +3Vote for this!

DNLTERRY	Posted Aug 26th, 2009 at 3:30PM This little boy is never far away from my thoughts , my first daughter (Roxy) was born around the same time as this story made the headlines witch i think made listening to what had happend to this poor little boy even harder to take in. humen rights and dodgy loop holes have prevented justice for peter, if anybody commits such cowerdly acts against defencles babys they are taking away any rights they have . should be wiped off the face of the earth nothing but scum , the justice system in this country is a joke. chocolatemelons	Posted Oct 10th, 2009 at 2:40AM It's a sickening reality that as I am writing this another baby is suffering at the hands of a monster. Only last week in my home town a couple did the same thing to a tiny baby. That little baby lasted 7 months before being shaken so hard she went into convulsions and died. Every time I read a story like this (and there have been so many over the years ) that it feels like my heart is being ripped out. The evil monsters who do this have no place in society. In my opinion they should be subjected to the same abuse they inflicted on the babies they destroy mame and kill. They disgust me so much. I can't have babies and to see so may innocent children die at the hands of the people who should be caring for them is undescribabley painful. Rated: +1Vote for this!
