I have three children, all so different. My oldest is the one that is most difficult for me but he's so intelligent and has a fabulous sense of humor. He can charm me and anyone else he chooses to and is the "life of the party" with his wit and sarcasm. He likes to hide his big heart but when he shows it, I'm always so proud of him.

My second son is sweet and gentle and can be so reassuring and supportive to those that need it. He has a beautiful smile and pleasant way about him. He's a hard worker and has so many people that are devoted to him and his kind soul.

My daughter lights up my world because she is such a beautiful, wise person. She supports me in a way only another female is able to understand. I've enjoyed watching her grow and take great pride in who she has become.

Can I say I have a favorite child?

Never.

Each brings to me a different perspective on being human. Each fills a part of me with pride in who they have become. My daughter came to me later in life. She's still at my side and because of this her love has been so special to her dear Mom.

Each child fills a purpose and need for their parents just by being who they are.

I think that sometimes you can't help but have a favorite. The thing is not to show it and to choose to be fair and loving to all your children. Otherwise you can cause a lot of damage to your relationship with them and their relationships to one another.
My mom had a favorite...my older brother. And there were ways that she acted that simply were not fair. I believe it's one of the reasons my brother was a bully and why we never had a real relationship. My mom gave him a sense of entitlement. I don't think my mom has a clue what damage she did.
