What attracts younger women to older men?

Authority. Power. Integrity. All the things that younger women don't have on their own. Money is merely a pleasant benefit.

I am thinking the maturity factor because well women mature faster than men.

Older men are much more mature (in most cases) and they tend to be more well-rounded. I adore older men. My husband and I are the same age, but older men are more fun to chat with...I think it's because I act much older than I really am.

Younger women tend to think that older men are somehow more mature, stable etc.

When they spend enough time with these older men, the younger ladies realize that they were duped by an old fart who can't date women his age, because he is intimidated by a real woman, so he preys on naive younger ladies.

The younger gal will fall for this until she has her heart broken enough, and enough time wasted.

In my case, it's experience (both life and sexual) and confidence. A bit of "seen it all, nothing worries me much anymore, nothing's that bad anymore"... a form of peace and maturity.

That's to say I won't go for the "older fart who's scared of women his own age". ;)

I see several of the "younger" men here must be threatened by us older men, judging from their response.

Face it women like men that treat them like a woman and the goddess that they are.

Maybe some of them actually find older men attractive.

Only recently I became able to appreciate this as an option. For me the maturity and experience make an older man better able to make me feel "loved". Either that or its because I didn't have a daddy! ha

Women just want a guy at the same maturity level as themselves, and i think some gals just want a guy who is stable and ready to settle down.

Okay, I'm 41, so on the wrong side of "older". I think that younger women are attracted to older men because of a misconception that older men are wiser or more caring in some way. Perhaps also because the young women are hoping that the older man has lived a full life and is finally calm enough to want to start a new family. Sadly, I don't think that these hopes are always valid. Going by my personal experience, an older man may have stopped *learning* (ie may be set in his ways). And if he's not already in a durable relationship where babies are a realistic prospect, by that age, chances are he is NOT going to suddenly decide that he wants to try. Men who have managed to become "older men" without being a family man probably have found a way to be very happy and contented without that. HTH.

A sense of protection.

Wisdom comes with age. Older men are perceived to be more responsible and stable - emotionally and psychologically and even financially. Women may feel safer around them. Older men may also seem to know how to treat women better. Also, they say that women who are attracted to older men may be looking for a father figure.

The illusion of 'stability'

I have no idea, my husband is five and a half years younger!

My sister likes older men and she is young. I think it is a stability thing for her. She probably is seeking someone who is "together" and has some of the answers.
