Resolved Question

What Book(s) are you reading at the moment? I need something new.?

I've just finished in the last few weeks; The Twilight Saga, The Whisper of Leaves, Song of the Silvercades, The Vampire Academy series 1-3, The Mortal Instruments Series, The House of Night Series, re-read some old Anne Rice and Traci Harding. Anyone into Fantasy that can give me some new ideas what to read?

"Anyone into Fantasy that can give me some new ideas what to read?"

the "bible", fantasy horror replete with dubious lessons in morality, self-righteousnous, summary judgments and executions, racism, genocide, hypocrisy, all revolving around a god-creature who is so pathetically lonely, he must meddle in the affairs of mortals...brainwashing all who can't think, reason, nor accept responsibiility for themselves. he's quite jealous too, demanding nothing comes before him...and he even expects tithing! what a racket! thank goodness it's only fantasy-fiction.

i think jesus will be your favorite character. he's mine. i think the authors could've done more, but that only detracts from the horror and fear-inspiring aspects the book attempts to convey.

it's wonderful fiction, if not taken literally. --|------

Charlaine Harris's southern vampire series featuring Sookie Stackhouse. There's an HBO series titled Tru Blood based on this series.

At the moment, I'm reading the fourth Odd Thomas book "Odd Hours" by Dean Koontz.

The Dark Tower Series by Stephen King is great too.

Aww choose dragonpeaces answer - inspired!! I liked Jesus the best too, but that Mary was pretty brave too, having God's baby and all that. Felt quite sorry for Judas - was a bit 2-dimensional for my liking, and wasn't it prophesied that JC'd be betrayed? If that's the case, then Judas is a vital character and absolutely essential to the plot. Peter was a bit of a knob, chopping that soldier's ear off, then pretending he didn't know Jesus; personally, i wouldn't have given him the pope job after that, but that Simon guy was nice, helping with the cross when Jesus fell. Thought the criminal's eye being pecked out was overkill; he was already being crucified for god's sake, but that's horror fiction for you - gory to the last! It could've ended better too, but there you go.....

Sarah Waters has a new book coming out that's supposed to be brilliant, "The Little Stranger". It's about a haunted British manor house.

"Fight Club" by Chuck Palahniuk (I've read it on the train, on my way back from the seaside). Now I want to begin "Slumdog Millionaire" by Vikas Swarup because I've loved the movie.

Have you tried Dean Koontz? Not as 'vampirish' as Anne Rice but being a Rice's fan, I enjoyed Koontz just as much.
