Try staying hydrated and keep using the lip balms.

do not use any petroleum products. make sure your chapstick does not contain them.

Lanolin is a very good moisturizer. Staying hydrated is also very important.

Coconut oil might be a good thing to try if you are not allergic to it.

I would also be concerned that you are deficient in a vitamins and nutrients. Do some searches, here is one link:

Dearie, my Harold had the same problem, but a friend gave the perfect solution for this. I bought an Aloe
Vera Plant (did you know this plant can live for 25 years)? anyway I bought the plant and just before we would retire for the night, Harold would cut a small portion of the plant, and apply the lquid to his lips. Within 3 days, his lips were back to their normal self again. After that, only in the coldest weather, did he have to use. Hope this helps you, dearie. :)

Thanks, I haven't had one of those plants for yrs. I don't get much light in my home so would one survive if I got one?

Cold sore cream? At least it might numb it. Dunno if it has anything to do with vaseline though. =/ Sorry.

Greasy body butters. L'occitane and Palmer's do good stuff. Bobbi Brown lip gloss is awesome too. Thick and greasy means it'll last longer.

I know my skin soaks up body butters quickly. Never was one for glosses or lipstick though. Thanks

buy some star flower oil in capsule form - ***** with a needle and apply to lips. I use it for nearly every dry skin complaint I have and it works a treat.

You will find it down the health food supplement aisle in most chemists/drug stores. Should be where the vitamins etc are located.
