Great question!! Hiking is inexpensive, especially if it's just arou d town to fist different parks. Pack a lunch and walk and dine where you choose, if you have kids they will enjoy to stops at the playground equipment.

Go to the local farmers market. Go get some of the veggies you would otherwise get at the store. They will be fresh, tasty and you can easily take up 2-3 hours walking the market.

We take a walk to the Dairy Queen that's about 2 miles away. We get dipped cones and it's costs less than 4 bucks for a treat in the middle of a walk that is good for us.

Rent a Movie or select one from the archives, make hot dogs or seiner wraps, pop some pop corn and have a movie night. Pull out the blankets and mattresse and make a place for everyone on the floor in the living room. It becomes a bonding expeience.

There are a few :) - I've got more

Volunteering shouldn't cost you anything. Go to an organisation that pays all your expenses. And make sure you claim everything.

If lonliness is the issue -- not absence of romance -- one great way is to volunteer your time to help others. It will help them, make you feel great, and you MAY even meet some like-minded someone and solve the relationship dilemma too!

When I was a stay at home mom loniness almost ran me crazy. I got a job. But I am on a budget and when I get bored I try and make new EP friends. If I get really bored I will pull out my battery operated friend.

"Loneliness on a Budget"
Cool idea for a book or movie title.

Get involved in an artsy thing. Theater, singing, that kind of thing. Even if you think you have no talent you can always work behind the scenes.
Decide on the kind of people you want to meet, what are you looking for. Then seek out those organizations that have those kind of people.
