I'm sorry your going through this. At 53, the same thing happened to me about a year ago. The worst thing I did is doubt myself. I had done a good job for many years. Others rode the wave of my success, and even took credit for a lot of what I had done. One day corporate showed up and let me go. I was devastated. I was harder on myself than those around me were. I would go among family and friends and I felt worthless. After about a year, I landed the most perfect job for myself now. I can't believe how lucky I am. Now I look back, and am so glad all this happened to me.
Keep your chin up. Do your best to stay positive. And keep moving forward. Some day you will look back and smile. Never change who you are, for anyone
We all make decisions, and we all make mistakes. the people that are successful, are the ones that learn, and move on. Keep trying, keep moving ahead. when you fall, get back up and try again.
You know, I was out of work over a year, landed a great job. I have worked here for about a month now. Last week, I had another company call me, actually the company I had wanted a job from, and they offered me a job. they offered $25,000 more a year and they would give me a company car. I turned them down. I now love what I am doing, and it was never a decision of mine to go after the big money. I always went after what I enjoyed to do, and adapted myself to the money I made.
You know, look at this time as a chance to make a change in your life. Maybe this is your chance to do what you always wanted to do. Your looking at things as kinda of an end, but I think you should look at this as maybe a beginning
It is kinda easy to come up with a dream. What do you like to do. What are you good at? What do you enjoy? You know, I actually considered driving a tour bus. I love to travel and I don't mind driving. I love the outdoors.
I do sales, and I had worked out of an office so many years. I now got a job that I do sales, but i get to travel. And of all things, I travel most of the mountain states, where I love to be. And the best part is, I get paid for all miles and expenses while I travel.
I went from an office job to somethings I always wanted to do. I look back now and I am very very thankful I lost my last job. I would never have initiated a move at my age
Trust your instincts. Sometimes it's a personality or work style clash. Can you get another gov't job? You may have to dust off your resume. Don't feel guilty about doing this. Look out for you.
Would love to offer serious answer, but brain not awake - only answer that comes to mind: Get rid of Boss.
