Because of years and years and years of having my trust broken by so - called "trustworthy" people. It is my experience that most people have their own agenda, and serve only themselves.

Uh, no, I don't go digging to find the good ones anymore, if anyone wants to get close to me, then they will have their work cut out for them, I am all out of putting effort into forging new friendships, I'd rather go without thanks.

When their words and actions constantly do not match, and makes me think of their motives unnecessarily too many times. Also, when people make me wonder whose side they really are on when I share personal and sensitive things, can lose my trust immediately.
