When I was a young girl, I had a bad therapist my mother made me see and she told me that if I continued to complain about my home life, I would wind up in a certain local detention center for wayward girls. Many years later, after I grew up, I got a job working for the county as a substitute teacher in detention centers and the first place they sent me was....the detention center for wayward girls! (Actually, by then it was coed). As I walked in there, I felt great satisfaction and said quietly, as I approached the checkpoint, "Well, you were right, _____. Here I am!" I know that therapist never thought anyone would PAY me to go there!

Where do I start.... I guess with a biology teacher that told me that if I kept reading that rubbish (the lord of the rings) I would never pass his test, or by extension do well in biology.
I got a 98% on that test and a PhD in Molecular biology.. guess I showed him LOL :)
