What do I do? !?

He finally kissed me - without telling me he had a girlfriend. And yesterday he broke up with her. If we become.... anything... who's to say he won't cheat on me, too? I never would have pegged him as that type of guy, but maybe I still don't know him as well as I should after a year of friendship...

Run far away from this dude.
If he cheated on her, he will most likely cheat on you.

Unless you seriously want to be with this guy, I wouldn't recommend making the risk. And even then, be very careful.

He's obviously a player and runs to the first gal who gives him what he wants...OR he's fickle. Either way, a guy who does that to HER...will eventually do the same thing to YOU, even if you try to pitch the case, "Well. I'm different. He won't do that to me." YES, HE WILL! Run!

You could stay friends with him. How do you know he won't do the same to you like he did that other girl? I would monitor his further actions closely...find some evidence to back up your suspicions. And if the evidence adds up that he's been cheating on you to, it was for the best that you two just stayed FRIENDS and nothing more.
