What do i say to her?

my best friends mom is having surgery very soon for a cyst larger than her bladder and is leaving the country for a month to get the surgery done. i dont no what to say to make my friend feel better because i no she is scared for her mom since she cant be with her for it and her mom has had 3 surgeries in the past (not for the same thing). what should i say to her? i already said i am sorry and she can talk to me about it, but what else?

The only other think I could you do is maybe write her Mom a little note or get a card wishing her the best on her medical care and recovery and give it to her before she leaves.

If it were my friend, I would ask her if she wanted some company on the day of her mom's surgery and then maybe just watch videos with her, or go to the park, or whatever she wants to do and just be with her while she waits to hear about her mom. You don't have to worry about saying anything spectacular, just what you've already said to her and that you'll be thinking of her and her mom, and then just be with her if she wants company.
