Reclusive people have been driven in to that position. That social isolation, perhaps helps them to gather their thoughts and themselves, to get over the issues that had been bothering them. Amazing that it is without the help of any counselor or psychiatrist.

I do this when I'm overwhelmed. I go in the bathroom and cry. Crying releases stress, I just don't want my son to see me upset.

You are of course trying to protect your son from seeing what you are going through. I feel for you in this respect. Releasing your feelings in this manner is helping you perhaps just a little, but it goes a long way.
