Become amish. They don't depend on anything but each other and their land. They don't even pay property taxes!

1) Fire the fraudulent Federal Reserve and replace the dollar with constitutional gold and silver backed currency issued by congress.

2) Pull out of NAFTA

3) Pull out of the WTO.

4) Pull out of the United Nations

5) Totally deregulate our energy industry

6) Cut corporate business taxes to zero.

7) Impose suitable trade tariffs that will force industry to build plants in this country.

8) Stop giving tax breaks to corporations who relocate to third world countries.

9) Understand that "global warming" or "climate change" is actually pure junk science. It's hard core propaganda coming from Marxist control freaks who are green on the outside but red on the inside. We need to stop listening to this bunch of green statist zealots who's very existence requires that they loot and impoverish us.

Amish wouldn't work, people are too greedy, thats how we got here. It would just make civil war real fast.

I think something needs to be done but I don't believe making more money(just makes things cost more from inflation, we've already seen that) and selling debt to China is the answer. It just doesn't seem logical to pass out money we don't have WITHOUT cutting back someplace in the government to be able to repay as taxes come back in from the spending.

I don't know what we should do, except that I think there is a fundamental flaw when our government will BAIL OUT people that have made bad decisions and will not lose out on anything (the Savings & Loan bail-out) - oh, yes, we will give them money - but we are going to take money AWAY from Education - oh, yeah, that mentality will take us far - NOT! My locality is trying to sell us on the idea that they are going to increase class sizes, lay-off teachers and take away classroom aids YET our children will get the quality education that we have come to count on - What a piece of crap!!!!! I really want to scream from the rooftops - the NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND ACT (which I'm sure is costing the Federal, State and Local Government quite a bit - the rules for administering the test and they pay the testing specialist extra money for this - those things can be expensive and extensive) - that act which is supposed to help our children succeed - BS - the No Child Left Behind Act is leaving my children behind! As a former 8th grade teacher in Virginia - I had to not only cover my entire Civics curriculum but also review 6th & 7th grade history (which they will be taught again in 11th grade) so that they can take that D&%^ test because if they don't do well - who does it reflect on?? Me! Can you tell that this whole thing burns me up? And do you know who is ultimately going to pay the price for these bad decisions and the greed found throughout all of the levels of government - OUR CHILDREN and so on - I don't believe that my chidren will have a better life than we have - in fact, I am not sure my generation is having a better life than my parents! I don't know if any of this makes sense but what is going on locally as a result of the National Economic Issues is really bothering me! Okay, I'm done -I'll shut up!

Doing nothing is not an option. Consult the Bureau of Labor Statistics to see the writing on the wall. It is not hyperbole to call this the greatest economic crisis since the Great Depression. Losing 3 million jobs in a year is alarming.

You have to decide which is worse and which is more likely:

Rising unemployment due to no demand, which leads to even less demand and more unemployment, while credit markets remain frozen...

or government intervention with resulting inflation.

Pray!

Thats all we really can do. After all God is in control.

CoolPenguin I sorta like the idea, but agree with ShutterMagic.

We learn just what we are made of.....Our grandparents....or for some Great grand parents went through this also......The government did not step in then....Well not with the same amount that they are now....We the people stepped up...We raised our own food....And did what ever it took to get through it....We should start thinking the same way as they did....There are jobs out there....But most people think that they are above hard labor....I say why????? If it is going to save your home...Then you do what ever it takes.....Have you wife so something.....How about your kids.....Is there nothing that they can do to make money to help save their home also.....Kids nowdays just seem to think that it is up to just mommy and daddy to pay the bills.....What ever happened to.....It is a family problem....I see far too many kids with cell phones and ipods....driving around in new cars....With their expensive wheels...and stereo's blasting.....What ever happened to "The good of the family?????

I am getting off of my soap box now...

Whatever you do, you're screwed. Sorry, but you are.

You might as well get behind your President's crazy Stimulus Plan. Either that or do what Orien said and wait for the country to go broke.

I think the likely hood of the currency failing is very high, Silver will become the coin of the relm for ordinary folks.
We will be forced to step back from a lot of things we have allowed to go on for years. Building our own homes, keeping a car for a long , long time. "Citizen Politicans should step forward by popular demand" Elections should not be funded by foreign interests. The listbis long and unplesant for todays now generation.
Back to basics until it is turned around. Stop reliance on frieign oil, it is destroying us. Quit supporting foreigh economies at the cost of our own. Yada yada . Unpopular answer I know. LOL

Are you sure we're in an economic crisis? Or have we just become conditioned to expect everything in excess?

The last 27 years have been an extraordinary economic boom, in the grand scheme of things. So let's think about things in the very long term.

In the not-so-distant future, we may be looking back on a 2008 and 2009 that were still a part of the good ol' days - the golden age!
