Forgive me, but your hate and disdain of Glenn Beck is showing.

Actually Beck announced a couple of weeks ago that the expenses of the 8/28 events had already been fully covered and that henceforth from that point, every penny collected will go to the charity directly.

As far as the date of the rally, it was not specifically planned for the anniversary of the Martin Luther King Jr. speech because as Beck and his staff admitted, none of them knew the date of the King speech, and I suspect, few Americans and fewer Americans of pale complexion would have known that 8/28 was the anniversary of the King speech. In fact, as a native Washingtonian who lived in DC at the time of the speech, I was not aware of the date of the speech. While the speech and its meaning were historic, the specific date is not something I recall ever reading or being told. The date for the rally was selected because it was the only date that the National Park Service indicated as available between august and October.

The speech is not sponsored by nor is it affiliated with the Tea Party, so please stop with the Tea Bagger crap -- your ignorance and anger are inappropriate and misguided.

I do not know what basis you have for thinking that Glenn Beck has some racial agenda in as much as I have never heard Beck say anything that is racist in nature, and in truth, quite the opposite. When the Shirely Sherrod incident occurred, Glenn Beck refused to jump on the bandwagon until he had heard the recording in context and as soon as he heard it in context, he stated that he believed she had been shafted and should be immediately rehired.

Finally, there seems to some presumption on the part of the "Civil Rights Establishment" that Beck is trying to hijack your movement, which quite honestly died and gasped its last breath with the election of President Barrack Obama. Similarly, there is a presumption on the part of the Liberal Elites that Beck has some nefarious political purpose in 8/28, yet nothing said by Beck or anyone associated with the event would lead to such a conclusion and in truth quite the opposite. Beck has repeatedly stated that his purpose is non-partisan, non-political, and post-racial. If anything, as a fan of Beck, my best guess at this time is that he truly intends this to be some sort of non-partisan, non-political, and post-racial spiritual and patriotic revival. His selection of the Lincoln Memorial as the site for 8/28 seems to be based on his great love and esteem for Lincoln and Lincoln's words of healing after the end of the Civil War, which are carved in marble inside the memorial itself -- what better location to celebrate a revival of American values? What could be less worthy of criticism?

I'm really sorry your "intelligents" feels insulted.

Tea Party people do not call themselves "teabaggers." This is a sexual slur on your part. Would you like it if they referred to you and your comrades as "b*tt-f***ers"?

"you did and proceeded to call names the very thing you accuse me of " No, I didn't call anybody names; I just made a comparison to illuminate what you're doing. And you still haven't figured out how to spell intelligence.

Sorry but the fake rally is NOT paid for. All the money he gets from the people he and goldline scam will go to pay for it. Whatever is left over will go to vets. But it is all about the $$$ he makes millons each year. He has a right so we cant stop him but like palin said about the community center just because he has the right to do it does not mean he should. Besides he is a conspiracy nut and he needs REAL help.

August 28 is also the 2nd anniversary of Barack Obama's acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention in 2008.I would think that the organisers of this Saturday's event will be mindful of the symbolic date of the 47th anniversary, and careful not to disrespect Dr.King's memory - though I guess others will not be convinced either way.
